I grew up in Mississauga.
After teacher’s college in 1978, there were lots of teachers but no jobs. I applied to 30 school boards across Canada. August 28, 1978, I was offered a job in Hanover and Holy Family School.
I borrowed my dad’s car, packed up and moved. I didn’t know anyone.
I have been here for 39 years, and now live at Pearl Lake.
Initially, I thought I would teach here for a short time, then go back to the big city. I love it here…the people, wide open spaces and lots to do.
