My Grandparents, Fred and Della Hall, lived on Grey Street. They had a farm, fruit trees and a vegetable garden. Mom would bring her five children over every week-end.
My Great Grandfather would give each of us $.25 to go to the Saturday matinee and we would also be able to get popcorn and a drink with that $.25!
Sunday morning we would walk to church as Grandma played the piano.
Grandma and Grampa eventually got rid of the barn; and the property had three lots where my uncles and cousins built homes.
After Grandma and Grampa passed away, their house was sold.
Years later my Mom Hilda (Hall) Melbourne moved to Clarendon Street in Southampton. Her house was just around the corner from where she grew up. It came full circle.
Mom died June 3, 2017. She had been in Central Place in Owen Sound for five years.
I still treasure all my visits to Southampton!
