I was born and raised in Port Elgin but moved away for 15 years. I lived in Hamilton and Ottawa. I chose to move back with my husband and daughter and bought Smiths’ Apples in 2016. I had a mental health crisis, and was asked by my therapist, “If I could do anything, what would I do” My answer was that I would own Smiths’ Apples. It’s all about the area itself, it feels like it’s on sacred land, it’s beautiful, the sky is big and it’s like a great experience for a family. My soul could breathe.
