I am an import.
I emigrated from the Netherlands to Simcoe County.
I became fluent in English in a few short months while attending Thornton Public School.
During my time in med school, I fell in love with the area, while hiking the Bruce Trail.
I went out west for one year after graduating med school.
I also did medical mission work in Nigeria, then moved to Wiarton and raised my family.
I retired from the office, and now love looking after the residents at Gateway Haven.
I also still do some house calls.
I never will leave here.
My daughter is also a doctor in Wiarton, and my son is a planner with Bruce County.
I have two more kids that I have to move back here!
I have three grandsons and just had our first granddaughter.
